Wrapper Library!
|
Dear all,
Iam a new user to Sharepoint 2003 development environment and i need your help regarding SharePoint Integration with a remote standalone application (C# winForm). I planning to create a library which will talk to sharepoint through its webservices ( and custom web services also) to get sharepoint functionalities (upload, search, checkinout etc.) , so that there should be no need to have a web server on client(desktop) machine on which i will acc ...

Re: Data Conversion

The rough overhead figure is that you should calculate ca 80% on top of the size of the documents themselves.
I don't have any even rough figures that break down per document type.
You should also be aware that if you set versioning on document libraries, *each* version will be a full size document so for five versions you'll need roughly 5 times the space one will take.
That's the situation for the v2 products SPS 2003 and WSS. I think the

Re: Multiple Domains in MOSS 2007
|
If it's anything like the v2 products (which is probably the case), your Win 2003 Server needs to be able to access a DC of the other domain in order to validate the users.
So two-way trust would probably work.
I doubt if it's anything to do with MOSS 2007 itself, it's more to do with the requirements within MOSS that users can only be assigned to sites if they can be validated.
[If you can't have a two-way trust relationship you can alway ...

SPS 2007-problems with e-mail replies to discussing board postings
|
We are trying to see if it is possible to use Sharepoint 2007 discussion lists to participate in discussion forums offline by using MS-Outlook and the new Sharepoint 2007's outgoing and incoming e-mail capabilities in discussion boards. We have a setup a discussion board to accept incoming e-mails, and of course users can use Sharepoint Alerts to be notified of new discussion postings and replies, and we are also able to reply-back with an e-mail using ...

Re: ows.js Modification only to News Listing Pages?

Unfortunately there is no reference in the two files (spnewlisting.aspx, speditlisting.aspx) to the ows.js. I've included a new ows_addons.js file, so i dont't have to touch the ows.js file.

Re: How to implement session timeout
|
Yes what im asking is actually form authentication feature. Sorry for the confusing. I know SPS 2003 doesn't support form authentication, so i'm going to write a custom ISAPI filter; any idea whether .Net HTTPHandler/HttpModule works, as far as I know, ISAPI can only be done using C language.
Thanks.

Re: unable to add new webpart

A lot of times that is caused but the entry in either the web.config or the DWP file not being correct. Double check the namespace and assembly name's as well as the DLL's signature (you did use "sn -T" note the capital T, right?)

show a formatted excel sheet linked to data
|
I have a fairly simple excel sheet that is using conditional formatting to color cells when they have a certain value
the cells are in a layout that is rather specific as to mimic the layout of a company parking lot each cell is linked using vlookup to a list on the second worksheet
I would like to show that layout on a webpart but linked to the excel sheet on the network containing the data
would this be possible at all?
thnx

Re: Project Server Webpart for Sharepoint Portal 2003
|
Just as an FYI...I spoke with the Microsoft technical support. After some time we finally figured out my problem. I was trying to import the webparts to a sub-area on my portal site. You can import these specific web parts to web part pages or top level sites only. Thanks
